HERNDON, Va., Apr 27, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- RCN Corporation (NASDAQ: RCNI), a leading provider of video, data, and voice services to residential and business customers, announced today that it has signed a two-year agreement to become an official sponsor of the Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA.
Located on the campus of Northern Virginia's George Mason University, the Patriot Center is a 10,000-seat arena that hosts George Mason basketball games, commencement ceremonies, and a wide variety of performances and special events.
"We view the Patriot Center as an excellent multi-purpose venue for premiere events ranging from basketball games to concerts to family shows to trade shows," said RCN President & CEO Peter Aquino. As part of the sponsorship, RCN will have signage, prominently displayed at various key locations inside the Center, which will be seen by attendees of more than 140 events and basketball games through out the year.

Earlier this month, RCN announced an official sponsorship with D.C. United. According to RCN Senior Vice President, Strategic & External Affairs Richard Ramlall, the company's growing affiliation with local sports teams reflects its determination to have a positive presence in the community.
